Second John holds truth and love together in a brief letter of encouragement and warning. The song affirms that Jesus Christ came in the flesh and calls believers to walk in His teaching. Love does not require helping a message that denies Him, nor does discernment give permission to hate a neighbor. Its refrain asks for a gentle witness that remains faithful to the Savior.
